The girls’ cross country team wrapped up an incredible season on Saturday afternoon at the State Meet at Fortress Obetz outside of Columbus. The girls battled against the top teams and runners in the state and brought home a sixth place finish! Emmaline Hanna led the way for the Explorers, as she crossed the line with a time of 19:03 and a 32nd overall finish. Jordyn Hopgood was just behind her teammate, clocking in at 19:06 and in 35th place. Sydney Gallagher also ran well, coming home in 19:10, good for 39th overall. Sarah Weldon put in a late surge, passing 14 runners in her last mile, and climbing to 63rd overall with a time of 19:27. Brenna Beucler continued to battle, as she has done all season long, and crossed the finish line with a time of 20:12. Story Jones was close behind Brenna, with a time of 20:19. Riley Gaynor rounded out the Explorer attack with a time of 21:01. Incredible job, ladies!
