The football team turned in a great effort on the road Friday night, but fell short against Archbishop Hoban in the Regional Championship game. The Explorers and Knights headed to half time tied at 14 after an exciting first half of action. The teams continued to battle in the second half, but the Explorers came up short on the scoreboard. Jacob Paltani threw for 210 yards and a touchdown and ran for 80 yards. Drew Lightner rand for 45 yards, and Aiden Lal rushed for 24 yards and found the end zone once. Cade Tonozzi hauled in six passes for 92 yards, and Luke McLaughlin added 4 catches for 60 yards. Colin Pierce had six grabs for 41 yards and a touchdown. Lal also had two receptions for 17 yards. Jake Vidmar went a perfect 2 for 2 on extra point tries, and finishes his career with an OHSAA record 122 consecutive point after makes.
The team finishes the 2020 season with an overall record of 9-1, an undefeated regular season, and a Regional Runner-up finish, in what has been an historic fall for our team and coaches. Congratulations to everyone and best of luck to our terrific senior class. You have so much to be proud of.
