The boys’ cross country team finished in 9th overall at the State Meet at Fortress Obetz in Columbus on Saturday afternoon, as they battled the top runners in the state, and some unseasonably warm conditions. Kyle Betz led the way for the Explorers, as he came home in 36th overall with a time of 16:15. Gabe Shale also had a strong day, as he finished in 51st overall with a time of 16:23. Titan Casey was just behind his teammate, with a time of 16:26 and a 53rd place finish. Kyle Papczun crossed the line with a time of 17:14 and Drew Hartline clocked in with a time of 17:22. Elliot Durkee turned in a gritty effort, willing himself across the finish line with a time of 17:41, while Jack Root also faced adversity during the race day and showed his true toughness. Awesome job and great effort, guys!
The boys finish another great cross country season as they take home a Suburban League Championship, District Championship, Regional Championship, and top 9 finish in the state!
Congratulations to our runners and coaches on an amazing season. Best of luck to our seniors who have continued the strong cross country tradition. We are extremely proud of you! Amazing job and Roll Hud!
