Maggie Murray – AOW – Fall 2019

Congratulations to Maggie Murray, as she has been selected as Athlete of the Week.  Maggie, a junior defender on the field hockey team, has helped lead the team to an 8-2 overall record, including five shutouts.  Coach Knox describes Maggie as “hard-working, coachable, and dependable.”  Coach Knox goes on to say, “Maggie is always looking to get stronger in individual skills and gives 100% on and off the field.  She contributes to the team on offensive and defensive corner units.  She has strong elimination skills to win the 1v1 and shift momentum to create game winning plays.”

Maggie has been playing field hockey since she was in 7th grade.  She enjoys the team aspect and the uniqueness of field hockey.  Her best memory is win the team defeated Thomas Worthington last season to advance to the state title game.  The team has their sights set on returning this year, and Maggie hopes she can continue to grow as a player.

Maggie hopes to attend Miami or Cincinnati after graduation, while continuing to play club field hockey and major in speech pathology.  Maggie is also a member of the lacrosse team, and enjoys baking, cooking, and hanging out with her friends in her free time.

Congratulations, Maggie!
