The gymnastics team wrapped up a remarkable season with a 4th place finish at the State Meet at Hilliard Bradley HS. The girls turned in a team score of 143.975, which was their highest team score of the season, and more impressively, the second-highest team score at the state meet in school history! The Explorers turned in a score of 36.625 (3) on floor, 35.775 (3) on bars, 35.9 (5) on vault, and 35.675 (6) on beam. The girls also qualified five individual gymnasts for Saturday’s individual competition; Laurel Gomersal, Lindsey Havens, Ava Guistino, Claire Wilcox, and Lydia Redd. The 5 qualifiers were the most in school history! Gomersal earned an 11th place finish in floor and a 19th place finish in the all-around. Havens took home 17th on beam and finished 24th in the all-around competition. Redd earned a 15th place finish on the bars, while Guistino finished 17th. Wilcox finished the bars in 27th.
The gymnastics team concludes the season with four meet/invitational wins, a runner-up finish at Sectionals, a fourth place finish at Districts, and a fourth place finish at States. An amazing season for our athletes and coaches! Congratulations to all! You have much to be proud of! Roll Hud!
