Boys Varsity Swimming & Diving, Girls Varsity Swimming & Diving · Explorers Swim & Dive Earn League and Sectional Titles!


Both the boys’ and girl’s swim and dive teams have turned in incredible season’s as they head into District competition this weekend.

The boys and girls both went 7-0 in Suburban League action, as they each claimed a 20-21 Suburban League National Division Championship.

Both of our teams continued their impressive 20-21 campaigns by taking home OHSAA Sectional Championships, as they began postseason action at SPIRE Institute over the weekend.  Check out the info below for details on Sectionals!

GIRLS

The girls swimming and diving team took home the Sectional Championship at SPIRE Institute on Saturday, as the girls began their postseason trek.  The girls team advanced 33 of the possible 35 swims to the District Meet and all 4 divers, as all girls participating in the meet advanced to Districts!  

The Explorers below took home Sectional Titles in their respective events!

Lucy Reber bested the field with a time of 2:11.24 to take home the crown in the 200 IM!

Carrie Caniglia flexed her muscles throughout the day, as she took home a pair of Sectional Championships, winning the 50 Free and 100 Free!  

Olivia Pisano was your champion in the 500 Free as she cruised in with a time of 5:19.21!

The 200 Free Relay team also took home a sectional title!

 

The girls divers were equally impressive, as Isabella DiTullio earned a Sectional Diving Title with a combined score of 420.75!  Isabella becomes the first girls diving sectional champ since 2012.

Lydia Redd finished 3rd overall, Josie Hall finished 9th overall, and Emma Beegles finished 12th overall, which earned all four divers a spot in the District Meet.  This is the first time since 2013 that all four girl divers advanced!  Amazing job, ladies!

BOYS

The Explorers took home the Sectional Championship at SPIRE on Saturday afternoon as their postseason got underway. The boys advanced 33 of the possible 35 swims to Districts. Fourteen boys advanced and will compete in their respective events at the District Meet!

Freshman Alex Gallagher had a huge day in his first postseason appearance, as he earned Sectional crowns in both the 100 Breastroke and 200 IM! Seth Baylor continued his great season with a sectional title in the 100 Fly, coming home in 52.02. The boys 200 medley relay team also took home the top spot, as they bested the field with a time of 1:38.71.

The boys look forward to competing at Districts and are in position for a number of strong swims!
